The Dutch Homestead Vacation Home (attached to right hand side of the host family’s home – see photos) is located just outside the town of Paradise. You can sit on the porch of the guesthouse and hear the train whistles of the Strasburg Railroad in the distance. The kitchen is stocked with some breakfast supplies for your first morning. THERE ARE TEMPORARILY NO ANIMALS OR HOST FAMILY LIVING ON THIS PROPERTY UNTIL THE SPRING OF 2027 WHEN THE NEW HOST FAMILY WILL MOVE IN.
There are many Amish farms nearby. We are located 3 miles from Sight & Sound Theater and 1 mile from Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, and The Strasburg Rail Road.
Our guesthouse has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 people. It also features a large kitchen with dining area, a sitting room, full bath, and radiant in-floor heating on the first floor. One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed and a full size bed. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to enjoy meals in the comfort of the guesthouse while soaking up the peace and quiet of after a busy day of sight seeing in Lancaster County.
$105 per/night for 2 people, $15 each additional, 2 & under free

Loved the area, close to town, but still quiet. Hosts even though not onsite were quick to respond when we had issues and able to get them resolved. There was enough to do we didn't miss not having a TV, although lighting was a bit of an adjustment (we had a chuckle having to walk into the bathroom fully to turn on the light, with the first time using light of the cell phone until we found the light location) and no air conditioning (if it was any warmer) would be as well. We are happy the days we stayed were on the cooler side of summer, but the house had adequate fans for in the windows, that when leaving the windows open and fans on at night, cooled the house well for throughout the day for the time of year. Both front and back porches were great to enjoy the morning and afternoon watching the kids and ride bikes up and down to play, as well as sounds of horse and buggy go by.

Le descriptif correspond parfaitement, le gîte est bien équipé spacieux et très au calme. Il a l’avantage d’être très bien situé notamment pour découvrir la région et les villages autour Bird in hand Intercourse ou encore Strasburg et Lancaster et bien entendu la réactivité de Dave qui répond rapidement à nos sollicitations Nôtre seul regret qui ne change rien à la qualité du lieu et sans doute avais je mal lu le descriptif, mais nous pensions loger à côté de la famille des propriétaires et des animaux comme cela semblait être précisé, hors la maison est vidée, il n’y a plus d’animaux et les propriétaires semblent avoir déménagé depuis.. ce sera vraiment le seul bémol…Sinon tout était top nous recommandons vivement !!

Overall we had a great stay. Reuben and Miriam were gracious hosts, and the bread, jam, butter, and eggs were a nice touch. A few things that were not clear in the listing: They do not have A/C, and very few electric lights. There are a few pedestal fans. We would gladly stay here again if we're in the area.

We had a wonderful stay and the family was Friendly. The farm was pristine, And the animals were Fun to watch. A very relaxing atmosphere! Homemade bread, butter, jam, and dozen of eggs was absolutely the nicest touch!

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay at Miriam and Ruben’s homestead. Their farm and home are so gorgeous and peaceful, and everything was spotless as other reviews have mentioned. There are other farms and markets nearby, so it’s well located. We also loved seeing their hens, goats, and horse every day!They were so kind enough to welcome us with farm fresh eggs, a homemade loaf of bread, grape jelly, and sweet cream butter. We were able to make delicious breakfast with this and coffee every morning!Overall, they truly made us feel at home, and we would love the opportunity to return with our family!

The guesthouse offers a relaxing getaway. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host who was very friendly. The property and guesthouse was very well taken care of. The home does not have many outlets. The light in the kitchen is turn twist activated, same with the bathroom light. The patio has a beautiful view of a large garden and play area in assuming for the children that live in the attached home. We did have interactions with the host and children, had views of the animals and also had fresh made bread, eggs and jam provided in the refrigerator. It was a great experience!
