Amish Farm Stay

Our young kids enjoyed the farm immensely. Sylvan was so generous with involving them in milking and feeding the cows, and interacting with the dogs, pigs, chickens, and horses. The farm is so beautiful and the house is very comfortable. The eggs, bagels, and milk were perfect for allowing us to enjoy our mornings. We hope to return.

This was my first time staying on a farm. Killdeer Farm was a peaceful place to stay. The guesthouse was clean and cozy. Sylvan was friendly and helpful. The corgis were a delightful welcoming committee. There were cows, pigs, and a few peacocks roaming around. I would like to come back when the weather is nicer. Thank you Esh family!

This is my second time staying at Killdeer Farm Guesthouse. My cousin and I enjoyed a restful stay here. The Esh Family are welcoming and kind. Sadie and her daughter make beautiful quilts and other quilted items. The guesthouse is cozy and welcoming. We slept so well under the handmade quilt and soft sheets dried on the clothesline. I love walking around the farm and greeting the animals. We even got to watch a horse get shoed! There are friendly Corgi dogs that follow you around and peacocks roaming around as well. I hope to return again and again.

My husband and I had an absolutely “amoozing” dairy farm stay at the Killdeer Farm! This is our second time staying at Killdeer and we enjoy the farm and Esh family more and more with every visit.
The guest house is always so very clean and comfortable. From the moment you pull into the farm and enter the guest house you know this will be something special. Take a journey to a truly idyllic farm… wake up to a breeze coming through the windows while hearing the birds chirp happily… peek outside the window and watch the colts run through the field playing with their mother while you enjoy your morning coffee… step outside the guest house into the beautifully landscaped yard and be greeted by the friendly Corgi dogs… take a walk with them to see the cackling hens laying fresh eggs, the pigs resting nose-to-nose, and the beautiful and proud peacocks show their fanciful colors. Don’t forget to check for the precious newborn calves and of course…watch the cows being milked! And what absolutely delicious milk they produce! Don’t hesitate to take a step into the lives of the Amish and let it feed your soul and give you rest.

This is hands down our favorite vacation destination and we cannot wait till we return. We cannot say enough about the wonderful Esh family. They are undoubtedly what makes this farm run with perfect precision and will become the best part of your stay.

As the review title says, “Cream of the Crop.” A simple review will never be enough to describe the stay we had on the Killdeer farm. My wife, in-laws and I lodged here. Understand first, this is a working farm and these amazing people definitely work. Sylvan, Sadie, Lydia, and Abram are all workers and it shows when you see the cleanliness and beauty of the entire property. From the manicured lawn, clean edging, well taken care of animals, the beautiful plants, clean house and many other things too numerous to mention. Imagine everything you think you know about staying on an Amish farm and then erase that from your mind. My stay was so far from what I expected but in a good way. The stay within itself was great but the people… well they made it so much more for me personally. How you interact with people can make or break an experience. People respond to your actions and the energy you give off. I can say for me they were all a gem. Maybe the best individual family I’ve honestly ever met. From the kind hearts of each one of them to the warm smiles on each of their faces, the interaction I had was unbelievable. I could have never imagined this stay on this farm with this family would change my life in an amazing way. I’m a people person…I thought staying on a farm with a unique kind of family/culture would be so different from my every day life…but I found out they were more like me than I could have imagined… and that was a God send for me. Not only was it possibly the best 5 day vacation I’ve ever had… it will become a regular event for my wife and I, Lord willing. Great place, great culture, amazing people and of course they were The Cream of the Crop! Thank you Esh family for blessing me with great conversations, plenty of laughs and so much more. The Esh family are gracious Host and work very hard in making Killdeer Farms one of the top farms in the area. The accommodations are extremely nice, modern and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on coming back very soon.

Wonderful Family and a Great Stay. Had Plenty of Room and Upgraded Recently. Sylvan and Sadie are Great Hosts and friendly. Sight and Sound close by and also many Amish Shops. Great Places to Eat and shop all just a few miles of the Farm. We will be back Lord Willing.

We stayed here with family for a couple of days. It was a wonderful experience. Its a huge property and very well maintained. The rooms and restrooms were neat and were will supplied with toiletries and clean towels. We could see the milking of the cows, barns, horse stable and walked through the large farm. We loved the cute dogs. Sylvan and his children were kind enough to show us the dairy storage, and provide relevant information about farming, Amish culture and nearby attractions. The rooms had nice view of the large farms and the stables/barns.
We did a late check in and Sylvan arranged for the easy check in procedures with clear instructions.
We really enjoyed the the stay and the warm hospitality of Sylvan and his family.

We have stayed at Kildeer Farm numerous times. I think at least three. We couldn’t stay in 2024 because it was already booked. We are coming again next week (March 2024). They are very nice and accommodating. We get to walk around the barn, feed the horses, and talk with Sylvan and Sadie.

My family & I stayed at Killdeer Farm Guesthouse. It is very clean. The property owners are humble. When we asked, they even gave us a jug of fresh milk. Thanks.

The part we didn't enjoy the most was how cold that place was! We didn't expect that at all. It was difficult to sleep, especially, for the kids. We were told by the property owners that pets are not allowed. We were told not to go back, again, with our Cavapoo dog. That was sad!

As I mentioned above, it is very clean & spacious farmhouse.

My wife & I also stayed here this January (a couple weeks before you) and we were very comfortable, but the 2nd floor bedrooms can be quite chilly on the coldest winter nights. As mentioned on our website, "there is heat in the Amish homes but it may not be as warm as you’re used to". Regarding your dog, we also mention on our website booking page for Killdeer Farm that pets are not allowed. I'm sorry you missed that.
