Amish Farm Stay

What a beautiful home to stay at. We were greeted by Sadie and a couple of dogs; kitties came to visit later on. I wish we had stayed 3 nights, because 1 full day wasn't enough time to enjoy the farm experience. Highly recomend this property, and hopefully will get to go back for a longer time!

We absolutely loved our stay at Killdeer! It was my 2 daughters and I. Even though just one night to stay, Sadie and Sylvan made it so hospitable! Their house is gorgeous and so clean! The dogs, Ruby and Arthur (at first) greeted us and were so friendly. Later we met a cute tiger kitty and an orange kitten my daughter named, "Cheeto". We watched morning milking and got to feed a calf! My daughter helped collect a couple eggs from the chickens.
We also got to play with the Blue Heeler puppies and spend some time with Sadie, Sylvan and Abrahm.
We made breakfast in the morning with eggs they left for us in the refrigerator. So good! Being an animal lover, I was impressed at how well all the animals were taken care of on the farm.
We can't wait to come back for a longer stay next time!

My stay with my two young daughters was wonderful. Sadie and Sylvan were wonderful hosts. Very friendly as well as generous with their time in answering questions and ensuring our stay was a great experience. The guesthouse was impeccably clean and cozy. With a full kitchen and the fridge stocked with eggs, yogurt and bagels--making breakfast with two young kids was easy. We plan to return for a longer stay.

Although our trip was too short, we had a wonderful time at Killdeer Farm. The Esh family is very kind and welcoming, taking time out of their day for interesting conversation about the farm, animals, equipment, and their lives. Even their dogs are welcoming as we were greeted first by them as we pulled up to the barn. The house was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The kids especially loved holding the puppies and milking the cows. We cannot wait to return!!!

This was our first visit and we were pretty impressed.
We knew that with all the 5 stars we would not be disappointed. (Only 2 persons from the same family gave 1 star)

The rooms were great and we fell in love with the dogs. My granddaughter named them Burnt Chipotle, Burnt Fireball. and Chiptotle. These dogs would run over and we got lots of hugs and we played with them. They loved belly rubs.
We got the opportunity to see the cows being milked and learned so much about farming

What amazed us the the hardworking Sylvan. We never met his wife. From sun up until sundown he was working. First milking started at 5:30 am and the second one at 5:30 pm. He spent the time to answer our questions while we were careful not to cause to him to stop. We were visiting, he was working and we were conscious of that.

The serenity of the environment just blew us away. If you really want to reconnect with your family, this is the place to be. No television for distraction was a welcome relief. It's a pity the kids could use their phone! I wanted that gone too -- lol.

I have been spreading the word to my friends to let's go back!

Our stay at the Killdeer Farm was not just a night in Amish Country, but a memorable life experience that our family will never forget! Sadie, Sylvan, Lydia and Abram are a warm welcoming family. The guest house is impeccably clean, the farm lays beautiful with every outdoor detail attended to and the animals kept to the highest standard. The family shared stories about their way of life, culture and wanted to learn about ours. Spending time at this farm proves that families are a blessing from God! Our experience at Killdeer is well beyond four stars- simply unmeasurable!

The Esh family... special people that will live in our hearts forever and remain in our prayers. We were welcomed as part of their family. They were so tolerant of our many questions and allowed time in their busy schedules to include us in their daily lives. As we departed, I cried, I wanted to turn back and stay longer. I encourage anyone that stays there to take time away from running around siteseeing and spend time getting to know this loving family. Remember that you are staying at a working farm and that this is an experience that touches your life forever. If you want a holiday inn drive thru .... this is not for you. But if you want to build memories that touch the heart..stay more than a day or two. May God bless them always. We send our love and aloha to our "new family"... gary and julie simons.

Only great things to say about Sadie, Sylvan, Lydia and Abram! This family is such a joy to be around. They are not only great hosts, they are also kind and hospitable and FUN! Their farm is the real deal too! Sylvan spent a lot of time and energy explaining the processes they use for the dairy business. It was clean and very well taken care of. The accommodations were excellent…very comfortable rooms in an environment that is relaxing and rewarding at the same time. I highly recommend Kildeer Farm Guesthouse. I will be coming back!

WOW, When can I come back? I love the hospitality that my daughter and I receive each time that we come to Killdeer. We love everything about our stay to the point that we have come back to stay time and time again. Sadie and Sylvan are amazing hosts. I love everything about our stay from the lovable puppies to the ability to see the process of milking the cows. I have never seen a farm so clean and cared for like this farm. The animals are all cared and treated well. If you have not stayed here, I HIGHLY suggest that you go.

We are truly appreciative of all that Sylvan, Sadie and Lydia have done to create the perfect place to stay in Amish country. Their home is very comfortable and can accommodate multiple families. They have paid a lot of attention to detail in all their remodeling and it is very welcoming. We are truly blessed to have met them and their whole farm of animals. They are an amazing example of all the hard working, spiritual people who settled this country originally and we are very honored to have shared time and their home with them and hope to return soon🙋‍♀️💜
